COMMERCIALISATION

COMMERCIALISATION

  • How long does the technology transfer process take?

There is no rule of thumb to predict how quickly a technology will be licensed, and even once licensed, it is difficult to determine how quickly it will be successfully commercialised.  Obviously, factors such as the stage of development of the technology and the resources available to the CSIR for commercialisation and to the licensee for development and marketing will influence this.  Technology transfer is rarely a quick process and will usually take several months at the least and in many cases even years.
